Rare Orig Victorian Edwardian Gibson Girl Pigeon S-bend Bust Bra Dress Corset

  
This delightful piece is part of a Gibson Girl's wardrobe, giving it the secret to the "s" Bend hourglass figure that so often was referred to as a pigeon bust. It would be worn over your corset that was already pushing up the bust. And this was an integral part of the properly dressed high society gal whether she was wearing a lovely day dress or a beautiful evening gown. Made by SPIRELLA, which was a well known corset and undergarment company, this one is stamped on the right panel along with the size 36 on the front strap that hooks into the corset.

It is decorated with lovely 1/2matching shade lace. The sections are created with slightly bendable stays similar but much lighter to the metal and or wooden cane Victorian stays that are in a corset and some gowns.

In gently worn condition;overall it is clean however, there is evidence of a fill light spills (I wonder what was served that evening) albeit in extremely good very sound condition. No holes or loose stitching and no bent stays. Measuring; 18 over and across the cage itself without the side cotton panels. 16 top of shoulder down the side to the bottom of the cage.

12 each side panel from the bottom of the cage at the waist to the end of the fabric. Our storage and office areas are smoke and pet free environments.
