Here we have a hanging salt box. This was produced by Brush McCoy in 1915 as part of their "Dandy-Line" series of white banded crocks and storage pieces. The glaze on the three raised white bands was heavily applied.
The word SALT was cleanly stamped on the center band. This measures 5 ¾" in diameter, 4" to the rim and 5 ¾ to the highest point on the back. This is in near original condition with only a small flat chip on the underside that doesn't show or detract. There is no other damage, stains or repairs.A photo of this salt box can be found on page 73 in Lisa McAllister's Book I, Collector's Guide to Yellow Ware.
