For sale is a very interesting and rare-to-find 19th century 1800s Victorian era folk art decorated glass bottle. It is made by attaching many Victorian period original lithographic decals to the INTERIOR of the bottle. There is also a layer of white plaster type of material being applied afterward to the interior to make the decals stand out more. I have seen many scrap books with lithographs of similar styles and colored, but have not seen one using them to decorate a bottle. The bottle itself is rather attractive too.
Very slender and tall profile with applied lip and deeply dented base. Imagine how hard it is to attach these decorations to the inside of the bottle! It would be a lovely addition to the display on an antique Victorian country home.
What an intriguing conversation piece! The bottle measures a little over 14" tall and only 2.5" in diameter at the base. It is in great antique condition with no damages that I can find. Age appropriate surface wears and maker's imperfections are to be expected. Please check all photos for detailed condition. Feel free to check out my other antique and collectible listings.
